Deryn & Kris’s day started with a calm, quiet morning before the ceremony. Deryn wore her Jo Malone perfume and the coolest leather Converse under her wedding dress, while the guys looked sharp in kilts with matching ties. I spent some time with them soaking up the relaxed, intimate vibe of their wedding.

They chose a warm, autumnal colour palette, with browns, bronzes, and greens. Deryn’s dried flower bouquet perfectly complemented the rustic, cosy feel, and the venue looked gorgeous with all their thoughtful DIY styling.

Their ceremony was inside the marquee at Dunkeld House Hotel, after a little rain prevented an outdoor riverside ceremony. With only 25 guests, it was intimate and heartfelt. A piper led the way, and Yvonne Hannah, their humanist celebrant, shared their story beautifully.

Instead of confetti, Deryn & Kris had a bubble blast after the ceremony – a playful, joyful moment! Group photos followed by the riverside, including one hilarious shot where the group flashed their bums at the camera. Everyone had a great time, and the day just flowed naturally.

Inside, guests enjoyed drinks, live wedding illustrations, and thoughtful touches like baskets of sunglasses, fans, sparklers, and a sweetie table with caramel logs, biscuits, and more. Every little detail reflected how much Deryn & Kris cared about their guests.

We roamed the venue and riverside, capturing relaxed, creative couple shots. There was a bit of wind, perfect for some veil action, and we found a vibrant pink flowering bush that made for some of the most colourful images in their gallery. To finish, we had a playful bubble gun fight by the river – one of my favourite parts of the day!

Micro-weddings like Deryn & Kris’s are so meaningful. The couple can truly relax, and I get more time to be creative with my photography. This day reminded me why I love these intimate celebrations: they’re full of personality, joy, and memories that will last a lifetime.
